Both Golf Cart Parts

What's the difference between $20,000, $10,000 in repairs, and a
steaming pile of crap? ........ Nothing if you own a Land Rover.

Here's a video I took while doing a well deserved test drive before
taking my 1999 Land Rover Discovery II from the incapable hands of
Land Rover in San Antonio. Moments earlier the Server Manager handed
me the keys and said "the mechanic says it is running perfect now."

A week earlier I picked it up after having them "diagnose" the strange
electrical problems I was having. Which included, not being able to
take it out of park, not being able to put it in reverse, all the
lights flashing a strange code -- which I looked up in the owners
manual and means "you've been had by Land Rover." (Check the mechanic
bays and lot behind Land Rover next time you are near one. They are
full. In San Antonio they spill over into the Buick dealership. They
think it's funny.)

The "diagnosis" much to my disagreement was a failed fuse box inside
the cab. I told them the one in there is 3 months old. They said
"but the computer says so." I told them to keep looking, but they put
in a new one anyway and said "it's all fixed, but you need a new
hood-latch cable, and a new Master Cylinder --$800 more bucks." I
said "no thanks" the brakes worked fine when I towed it in there, and
so did the hood cable.

Now you must understand I am referring to the first time I attempted
to pick "the steamer" up was on Friday the 20th of July 2007. I paid
them $1800 and seconds later nearly drove "the steamer" into a car or
two when I left the lot. They must have put the break-system together
incorrectly, since I had nearly no brakes. I turned it around and
took it back to the Service Manager and said, as simply as I know how,
"Can someone explain this to me? no brakes?".

He said, "let me check and went to pop-open the hood, but the it
wouldn't open. The once "loose" hood latch was now broken. They
didn't feel the need or have the self-respect to tell me that fact.

After the ace-team looked over "the steamer" and were ready to let
loose there best mechanic-speak I interrupted and said "It's simple.
It needs a new hood latch, and the brakes fixed. I'm not paying for
it since I brought it in here for electrical problems, and you tacked
on the 'leaky master cylinder' (and a new battery) and gave me back a
vehicle unsafe to drive.

I agreed to pay parts and them labor, and gave them a 10 days to fix
it since I was going to Cisco Networkers Live in Anaheim.

Read on it get worse. They called to say the vehicle is ready, and
"good news it's only $47 to fix. Turns out the power-assist brake
unit was not really needed, just a new rubber diaphragm behind the
master cylinder."

Today, July 31st 2007, I arrived to pick it up. And I think you can
see why I wanted to test drive it. Even asked the Service Manager to
come along. He declined ("shoot", I thought, "no brakes again.")

Before I left the lot onto the busy Texas access road all the lights
and whistles went off on the dash board again. Remember that the
owner's manual said that particular sequence of lights means "you've
been had by Land Rover and we don't care." And also can mean, "Give me
your money and get out of here."

I once again turned it around (after taking little video evidence) and
asked to speak to the service manager. The coward refused to see me
and spoke through the polite service desk girl who said "what ever is
causing the electrical short you brought it in here for is still
causing the problem. We don't know when we can fix it." I said "I'm
not paying for anything else. And at this time I feel you have done
unnecessary work, and I have been over-charged." She said, "I will
have the coward call you."

This is the "white wire" that has always hung-out (literally) the back of my charger-port on my EZ Go. Where does it go?

The tire size is factory and 18 x 8.5. What size tire can I buy to fit on this rim, I've found some and want to buy them (nice knobbies) but wnat to make sure that they will fit.

This is the pretty picture of my new battery cage, all shiney and new. Sam's Powerfast at 55 bucks a pop. But it's better that having the cart sitting around collecting rust.
